Born and raised in Cork, Ireland, during the 1970s and 1980s, Mairead Collier developed a passion for interior design through literature, film, and her family's influence. Her mother’s ability to create a welcoming home with limited resources, along with the antique charm of her father’s family pub and his role at a boarding school, sparked her early interest in both modern and traditional design.
